Fit to be tied: 3 dozen learn about fly-fishing tips & techniques
The Elkhart County Historical Museum (ECHM)
employee Frank Fisher taught a program on fly fishing.
Director Nick Huffman discovered that Fisher has been an enthusiastic fly fisherman
for 45 years and asked him to bring his knowledge to visitors to the Museum.
Fisher demonstrated fly casting, answered questions on equipment choices, favorite
trout streams, and gave advice on knots and tying flies.
Fisher also provided insight on the techniques for acquiring the
skills that make fly-fishing a relaxing and enjoyable sport.
He related that you could get into this activity for very little expense,
or you could spend a lot. He said that his greatest fear was that after he
was gone, his wife would sell his fishing gear for "what he told her he paid for
it."
