After brunch, they played fun games -
In the scratch and sniff game, the lucky(?) two guests who got the "stinky diaper" cards won prizes. Then the guests measured out a length of "it's a boy" ribbon to guess the size of Katie's tummy.

The final game had to wait until the ice melted in cups, each containing a tiny baby figure. The first one whose water "broke causing the baby to be born" was the winner. Then Katie opened the gifts from thoughtful family and friends, who brought both practical and amusing items.

Waiting for Ian: 3 generations to wish Katie well with gifts & games

Katie Treadway's family and friends celebrated the coming of her first baby with a festive shower at Charles Hall in Bristol.

Hostesses were Aunts Rhonda Austin, Nancy Rinker and Katie's cousin and Rhonda's daughter, Cris McCreary. Grandmother Austin attended along with Katie's mother, Kathy Oman of Minnesota, and her mother-in-law, Jackie Treadway of Elkhart.

They enjoyed a buffet of fruit, veggies and punch, topped off with a cake that announced: "looking forward to Ian James," since Katie is expecting a boy on April 16. The cake reflected the same "animal/jungle" theme of many of the gifts.
