Ron Norman was appointed to fill the vacancy created by Ann Andre's resignation from the Council, by the Elkhart County Republican Party Chairman Dale Stickel. Norman will complete the term which lasts until the end of 2014.
Norman, a self-employed contractor has lived with his wife Beth, a realtor, in Shore Manor for nearly 20 years. Norman, originally from Ohio, worked in Colorado with the Henkels & McCoy utility contractors, Rocky Mountain Division until moving to Elkhart County in 1989. He had met and married his wife, Beth, there, both working at the same Company. They moved back to the Midwest to be closer to family.
He says that first and foremost, Bristol is a great place to live; and he loves being located on the river. He has always tried to stay current on Town issues and would like to eventually see the commercial bypass completed to help Bristol be a more pedestrian friendly community that would attract more retail opportunities.
Being a businessman, he is well aware of seeking the common sense approach and not "jumping over dollars to save dimes." He is concerned about how close to compliance Bristol is regarding the upcoming EPA mandated storm water regulations. He is honored to be chosen and will do his best to fulfill the duties of the position and meet the challenging issues of today's economy.
